Trap Treating During Season and Stretched Widths ?

Two TOTALLY unrelated questions, but I'll clump them together.

If I have 1.5's in the water and want to use them for new land sets, should I boil/dye/wax them? or just one of those? or just set them?

Secondly, when stretching animals, how wide should they be at the base? Coon is 7 (right?) Red's are 6? What bout these few muskrats I've FINALLY caught?

There are enough animals in the woods and birds in the air for all of us...
