books and/or dvds

Ok...so due to a new pup getting injured, the next 6 weeks I need to tend to it and keep the other dogs happy etc...so, no trapping...again...

I found a CR class Saturday I'm going to try to sneak off to...

Then, I wanna do some reading and/or watch instructional dvds...

My topics id like to learn up on would be trap mods and adjustments (coilsprings).

Sets

Winter trapping

Using CRs

Etc...anything that y'all think a green trapper would benefit from...

I wanna do it right...get some good traps and gear and tools set up before next season etc...and do it right..not just jump into it...

Mainly after fox and yote...hopefully fisher and bobcat if they have the season and I'm around next season...I know id lern a lot by going after coon etc first...but I have no desire to trap em...I run hounds and won't kill many coon at all that are accidently caught...maybe big boars...

Also, anyone in the beaver co area running a land line that wouldn't mind me tagging along a day or 2, that would be awesome...heck, id go on a water line too...that'd be neat as well....I'm 23 and been in the woods since I could walk...I always try to be legal and ethical and won't try to steal your spots...you'd never see me there if I wasn't invited by you...that's a promise...I just know it would benefit me to tag along with an expirienced trapper...id be willing to help and try not to ask too many questions lol....

Re: books and/or dvds

Any and all of tom mirandas videos, usually only $20 compared to other higher priced dvd's and I learned all I know from them and from the woods themselves.

There are enough animals in the woods and birds in the air for all of us...

Re: books and/or dvds

Definitely the Dobbins videos, plus get his book or video on trap adjustment. Also join the PA Trapper's Association, not only do they help promote and enhance our sport, you get a subscription to the Trapper and Predator Caller magazine which has a lot of good articles. The PTA has District meetings in the spring and fall where there are supply dealers and demonstrations. The PTA Annual Convention is way out east this year, but the Fur Takers of America National Convention is in Dunkirk, New York and it will be 4 full days of every dealer imaginable plus the country's top trappers doing demos. Great bargains too!
