headed north

Leaving Friday for bear camp coming home thanksgiving morning. worth while setting traps for coyotes (or whatever steps on pan) or waste of energy? be in tioga county hunt along tioga river mostly. also worried bear hunters will see/steal my stuff on logging roads. my mentor trapper suggested drags but never used and don't want to lose by never finding again either. suggestions.
