Fur check in makeing the money!

I go out to the state of Indian in late October of 2014 to trap coyotes. I had a couple left overs. I got a check yesterday for 3 coyotes for $2.79.

Get you traps and truck ready to hit the long lines in other states. It's money making time. I may even quit my day job.

A little sarcasm it's all a part of the trapping game. No hard feelings on this end it was a great season. It was just finny to see a check for $2.79 for 3 yotes. I should be a possum trapper at that rate, they'd pay better.

I think I'm going to frame that check.

Good Luck on the line!

Re: Fur check in makeing the money!

you can get good money if they are handled right by selling them on a taxidermy web site. some guys buy them to mount and re-sell but I think you might have to have a fur dealers license to do that.

check into the legalities they sure do sell and buy a lot of stuff on taxidermy.net

You don't need a license to sell them to them. If they are from PA they need one to buy them from you.

Got my check too. Mine was a little better at $461 and some change, if I remember right. Mostly my best Grey's sold that got me the money.

Re: Fur check in makeing the money!

We did well with the fur in we had double digit catches on coyote daily. Those 3 yotes were leftovers so they were at the tail end of what we had to sale. Nothing was in BAD shape. But for $2.79 total for 3 coyotes. We should have kept possums.

I found more humor in the $2.79 than anything.

I've been trapping for 31 years now. I'm no master at it that's for sure. But I've got more year at it behind me than I do a head of me.

Good Luck to all!

What did you average on your Indiana yotes? Obviously this sale didn't do you any favors.

How about 5.50 for 6 yotes. Can someone say clearance fire sale. Had to laugh though. That's 5 for a buck and 1 for .50 cents.

Re: Fur check in makeing the money!

We had 6 left over grinners from the last go around.....$6.75 for all six. We got $2.00 for two coyotes. They listed them as "damaged" which I have no clue as to why. When you take into account the time and work that goes into putting up those smelly dogs, fixing what they damage, and handling the resets....hardly seems worth it. That said.....I do like seeing them locked up in the AM and there is great satisfaction in removing them from the area.

If I'm not hunting or fishing with the kids....I'm somewhere on a Judo mat.

Kip, you win!

That's it grinner trapping it is!! You've got to go where the moneys at. I'm going to start a new line of trapping supplies specifically for grinners. Possibly a T-shirt line the possibility's are endless. A new unexplored market. We can even sell knew sounds for fox pro.

Snapper, what did you average on your yotes from Indiana? I am going to be making a trip out to the Midwest to trap this winter and was wondering what those yotes may bring.
