Spring Beaver

Now that the weather has broke and the ice has let up a little throughout the state, who is chasing flat tails? I better not be the only one.....

Re: Spring Beaver

Finally just got traps set out on Thursday. Only had time to get 2 conis set due to work. I will hopefully have time to get some snares an foot holds tommorw. Was lucky enough to catch a average size beaver the 2 night I had the conis set. Good luck an keep safe out there trapping in the water.

Re: Spring Beaver

I set Saturday and had to pull Sunday. There was some open water where I was setting, but mostly still ice covered on Saturday . It went down to 15 Saturday night and everything was froze in, and with the forecast it was only going to get worse. Oh well, there should be a healthy population next year. Good luck to all.

Re: Spring Beaver

Spring is that last glimmer of hope or the slim chance you might possibly get to put fur in your trap, before 80 degree days ruin the next 6 months of your life.

Re: Spring Beaver

it is the tease of setting open water and finding all your snares and 330 froze solid each morning but you keep breaking them out because some night it might not ice up..........

Now your diggin' where the 'tators are!

Exactly! I got a few snares out a couple days ago but with no luck thus far. I had 16 degrees this morning!

Death Yachts launched! 11 down so far- gonna float again Saturday night and call it a season... Sad to see it end but happy to see dirt in the garden!
