Coon Prices About To Crash?

Well, I'm sure all of you have heard about the recent turmoil Between Russia and Ukraine. With tensions running high and the U.S. taking a stand in defense of Ukraine are talking about trade sanctions with Russia, can this mean a major drop in coon prices? Russia, from what I understand, is the major purchaser of North American raccoon and if any trade sanctions go into play this could mean disaster for the coon market.

The horizon is your starting point.

I guess you haven't been trapping all that long to make a statement like that. Coon prices during the last auction may have been a good chunk lower than last year but still much better than 10 years ago. During most of the 90's and to the early 2000's coon were going for $5.00 to $15.00 each. It's not that bad....yet.......

Re: Coon Prices About To Crash?

Prices have already fallen... I sold some coons the other day and I sold 2 for $12.00, 1 for $8.00, 1 for $7.00... These were nice prime coons too!

I sold 2 red fox for $30.00 a piece and a gray fox for $25.00 and a single muskrat went for $10.00.

But, I'm not trapping for the money so it is what it is!
