Re: nafa pick up

They will give you a bag to put the fur in, a 1 page form you fill out with you information and a count of each aminal type you are dropping off. Under account number put NEW. Take your trapping license. They want to see it and the number is put on the form also. After about a week go to the NAFA site and apply for an account which NAFA will have already set up based on your fur. Wait for the auctions and see how it goes.

I just started shipping too... Bring your license and tell the guy on the truck your a newb. No big deal. Get your receipt and extra bags and slips for next time. We can watch the market fall apart together!

P.S. I never did thank you enough for the death yacht details. My fleet is slappin flatties real nicely- 8 so far this year.

Re: nafa pick up

ok painless it was not.... because of incompetent drivers. I get half as many Saturdays off as most people, thank you greg for wasting one of them for me, and the 7 other guys that were there.
A cell phone might be a good idea. All the cool kids have them now.

Re: nafa pick up

Yeah, sorry to be the bearer of bad news that he missed you.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the truck at my pickup was to call you, but of course I had no cell service up on Rt 118.
He had a huge Ryder truck and a tiny little stash of white bags tucked way up in the front. It echoed in there like the Grand Canyon. Maybe he missed more stops than just you guys?
How did the other fellers take it? Happy Trappers?

Re: nafa pick up

Sorry to hear that Bobcat. He was in my area last Saturday and he came an hour late. My daughter is a new driver and wanted to drive me to Reels Corners to meet him I said OK but by the time he was not there a half hour she said, lets go, he's not coming. I told her to wait a little while longer. He showed an hour after the scheduled time. His truck was real full last week. Greg's holdup was all of the new shippers that were there. There was only one guy at our stop and he was a new shipper also.

The horizon is your starting point.

Re: nafa pick up

ya he told Fairchild there was no one at our stop but there were 7 trappers there at 12:45 and all still there until Jeremy called at 2:30. Truck was supposed to be there at 1:05. I guess he figured out how to not be late.

Re: nafa pick up

They don't wanna miss your fur...I don't know how it works...but they are compensated by the amount of fur they pick up and get to Wisconsin...

Are there any agents close??? I drive mine right to my agent and drop them off...much easier...he has all the paper work and its easy...

The FHA sale is later I believe June...but if your still beaver trapping that might be better for you?
