NAFA Revised Auction

I just saw this on the NAFA web site today.

In order to better accommodate current scheduling conflicts within the international fur trade as well as offer an expanded collection of fur including selected Breeder and Section III mink on our next sale NAFA announces that it is amending its 2014 auction calendar. NAFA’s revised 2014 auction dates are as follows:

Auction: May 14th – 19th Inspection: May 9th – 13th
Auction: September 4th – 7th Inspection: August 30th – September 3rd

The postponement of our previously scheduled April/May auction to mid-May necessitates that our June/July sale also be postponed until September in order to allow more time in between the auctions for the international buying community to plan and execute the balance of their 2014 fur purchasing requirements.

The horizon is your starting point.

Re: NAFA Revised Auction

Probably shouldn't have went To a 3 Auction schedule. I wondered about it at first. My first thought was that another auction date would allow for less buyers, potentially, at each auction, which could drop prices. Just like an auction for anything, less buyers equals less people to bid, which in turn usually equals less and lower bids. $4 grey fox is the result. I got $25 for a section III grey before and got $4 for a SDB this year. I know it is nitpicking because my overall average was OK, but I'm not the only one unhappy with this lot of greys going for so cheap, especially when they were nowhere near a section III item.

Just my thoughts.

On a positive note, it does allow for more buyers to potentially attend overall and possibly new ones, which could benefit in the future.
