Hate to see it end!

I hate to see trapping season come to an end. Not because I'm a trapper cause I'm not. I just really enjoy reading your posts and seeing all the great catch pictures you fella's post up. Looking forward to seeing them again next year as well. Thanks Fella's and good luck next season!!

I hate to see trapping season come to an end.
Stay with us for another 5-6 weeks...
Beaver season ends in March 31st.
Plus the next few weeks you will hear folks bragging or complaining about fur prices

Re: Hate to see it end!

What's bad about the end of the season is seeing the different sets and lures the guys used to catch a lot of fur and I want to give them a try. But, since I have to wait until next season, I'll forget about them by then.

The horizon is your starting point.

Re: Hate to see it end!

Glad to see the foxes getting a break to rebuild thier numbers. The reds got pounded this season in many places.
Longear, lots of things to keep us busy if we want is rite. My wife will tell you same. LOL

I pulled up a while ago leaving just a few yote sets out but, it has been a long difficult weather season the last 2 months. Weeks at a time with NO tracks on many places.

The difference between dreamers and achievers is action.
One try is worth a thousand guesses.

Re: Hate to see it end!

I too have never trapped, but think I would really enjoy it. Not in the schedule for now, but I really enjoy this forum. Lots of good guys, great info, etc. My grandfather trapped when he was young, used to tell me lots of stories, but I never got into it for some reason, plus he was pretty much done hunting/trapping by the time I became of age to get into it. Maybe someday I will get into it when time gets more available for me.

I knew a older trapper in Mont. county, he traps just 3 farms in Chester co, I would stop and chat with him anytime I would see his truck cap wide open in the afternoon, that usually meant he still had his catch in there from the morning. He usually did very well in my opinion, usually about 100-110 reds a season, with 8-10 coon. Takes a lot of knowledge to get into it from what I see.

Keep posting guys...I love it.

Re: Hate to see it end!

My wife is glad it's over, I ran as hard this season as I could. Almost too hard, long hours putting up fur alone gets to ya. Especially coons. Was glad for the deer season break. After that I was refreshed ready to hang cable and get back at it. I'm totally satisfied with my seasons totals.I have the greatest respect for the guys that put up big numbers. And on that note I am right now working on a new dozen traps for next season, wife says it never ends. I'm glad I got back into this great sport after so many years off.

16/17 Goal-Totals
reds-20-10
grey-2-1
yotes-5-2
coon-12-9
bobcat-1
fisher-1-1
Otter-1
Beaver 3
