As I said in the November 16th thread, this morning I discovered that my treestand was busted up from a direct hit from a falling tree during the last wind storm. Luckily I wasn't in it at the time!

Sorry to hear that. I have an expensive tower stand in the woods and while I removed the overhanging limbs I thought were a threat there is no telling which way trees will fall.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Same thing happened to me. Luckily I think it missed my stand and my bow hanger and is just resting in the Y. But my steps are pretty messed up. Just glad I wasn't there when it happened.

That would have left a mark had you been in that stand. I got hit by a limb a few years ago while scouting Forest County, luckily it was a small limb but still knocked me silly and split my head wide open.

The older I get the better I was.

wow. This is what worries me when I'm bow hunting by myself in remote locales.
