Joining a Lease

I never thought I would ever join a lease and I guess you should never say never. My buddy that I've hunted with since we were 12 called me and said they had an opening on the lease he belongs to in 2F Forest County. Almost a 1000 acres with lots of public land around it with some decent bucks and lots of bear and turkey with only a few people that bowhunt. I said why not and my wife even seemed to take well, heading up this weekend for some camping and scouting.

Good for you. I think you will be happy with it and when you put up your treestand at least no one will be there before you or have someone heading right to you in the dark before daylight. Good luck.

I'm joining one in Illinois, next year there is an opening.

For me it's not about keeping other hunters out, it's simply about access and not having to try and get permission on property 12 hours from home.

Good for you!!! I went from 25 years of public land, then on to a lease for 2 years, to buying my own camp. You’ll enjoy your own little slice, even though you don’t own it.

Camp life,it don't get much better!

Not sure, but will probably only be three or four bow hunting. At this point I'm not sure how much I'll use it between of all the places I have to hunt in Pa. and Ohio. I mainly joined to hunt with couple of my buddies that used to go to Ohio with me, so if I hunt it a couple times it will be worth it.

Nice! Does it have a spot to park that new camper?

Nice. I’m not familiar with that area. There is a pile of good public land in forest county too. Good luck. Hopefully you see something promising this weekend. Watch out for rattlers!
