Vacation dates

I know this is incredibly subjective and dependent on several uncontrollable variables, but just looking to stoke some conversation: I live in FL and travel back to our cabin in 2F for a week each year. If you had to take one week this year and plan for it advance, which would it be?

10/27 -- 11/2: Hopefully catch some bucks still in the late pre-rut stage and be able to hunt active sign.
11/3 -- 11/9: Hunt the seeking/chasing phase before lockdown really kicks in. This is the week I typically hunt, but I've seen very little true rutting activity in the past couple years.
11/10 -- 11/16: May have a day when you don't see a deer or you may be in the right spot and see more bucks in a day chasing a hot doe than you've ever seen before.

For my area I'd go with 10/27 - 11/2.

The later it gets the more exciting I think the woods become. However, bear is in from 10/28 - 11/9 so I would take my vacation when I had a crack at buck and bear.

My areas used to be their best the first week of November. Better activity has been trending towards the second week of November over the past 5-6 years for me. I will be taking off the 6th-16th this year.

With Veterans day being 11/11 this year could you take off 11/3-11/9 and still hunt that Monday as this would give you an extra day?

Personally I would take either week in November.

Traditions only last if you pass them down to your kids!

Already picked 11/6 -11/12. Could change based on what's happening then or if something died already.

I'm taking from 10/28 until my buck and bear tags are filled or the seasons are over.

Iím a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.

I don't think you could really go wrong with any of those weeks. Your hunting for a week so you have the ability to adjust hunting tactics based on observation.

Good Luck & Shoot Straight
