Elite Victory 39

I have a chance to buy a slightly used Victory 39 for $325. Seems like a good deal but what do you think about hunting with it?

If you're worried about length, don't be. Iv'e shot dozens of bucks with 48" and 43" bows, and 60" recurve. Never any issues.

2 weeks of rifle season is ruining the flintlock season

The length really doesn’t bother me as I’ve hunted with long axle to axle bows since I started. I’m 6’4” so longer bows actually feel better to me than some of these really short ones.

I’m more concerned with the fact that it is a technically a competition bow and I’ve never shot one before and I don’t know how they compare to hunting bows in things like the power stroke and the valley and such.

Don't be worried. They shoot very well. Very smooth draw, with Elite's hard back wall. I shoot one for 3D & winter league.

If you want a softer wall like I do with shooting a hinge. Put a small o ring on the limb stops.

I've owned both a victory 37 and 39. You will have no problem hunting with the 39 and I'm a big fan of longer ata bows with 7 inch brace height.

The older I get the better I was.

Never shot a Victory, but I went from a Mathews to an Elite Hunter to an Elite Energy. As with golf, shooting a bow is a "feel" thing to me and I like how Elites sit in my hand and the smoothness of how they shoot.
