Bear Archery Changes

They added another week of bear archery for this next season which is great. Now they are adding an in-line/muzzloader bear season during the October doe in-line/muzzloader season. Now you could always hunt with a bow during that week for deer. I hope we would still be allowed to use a bow during this in-line/muzzloader bear season as well. The bow is lower powered weapon with a shorter range than an in-line, it wouldn't make sense for me if they don't allow us to use a bow during this week as well. Every other rifle/muzzy season you're allowed to use a bow as well and I hope that the case with this early muzzloader bear season. Does anyone know what the rules will be?

Same here. I can see a requirement of a ML stamp to use the bow for bear during that season - I just hope you can still use the bow. Buck, doe, or bear ... yes please.

My guess is muzzleloader only for bear followed by two weeks of archery for bear.

Yeah and senior and junior license holders can use a regular firearm the last 3 days of that October inline deer/bear season. So a fella with the right license and equipment can hunt 3 weeks straight in Oct. for bear.

Oh super, 3 weeks of Amish driving bear in bow season. After a few run inís with the amish and their 20+ crossbow clan driving off sides of mountains the first week of November, I changed and found a place they donít put on drives. The area is too big, no one can effectively.

And before a bunch of pants end up in a tizzy, no the Amish did not hunt bow season before crossbows. This is not an Amish or crossbow bash... just facts of life. What I said would happen did, exactly. Buddy from my old grounds sent me a pic of the Amish clan last year setting up their drives... looks like heíll have another week to put up with them around his camp. Lol.

The original proposal had it all happening in one week. Anyone licensed to hunt deer that week, and had a bear license, could also take a bear. From what I've read here, the bow hunters org got it changed.
