Sounds like a locked shoulder. I have the same problem and cortisone shots once a year take care of it.

Background on this is surgery in my 20s for labrum, arthritis, and bicep tendon. Surgery two years ago for more of the same. Dr said mri from 2 years ago until now looks like 40 years of damage. Lifting as excruciating, shooting bow was difficult. I told the DR I can give up wrestling, adjust lifting, but I MUST shoot bow. Sold all my 60-70 bows and replaced with 50-60. I have a Mission Craze setup for bowfishing that I can start with in the spring.

Haven't used pain meds in 24 hours, I hate them and the pain isn't terrible, however brushing teeth and wiping the rump is quite interesting with my left hand. Getting bored of sitting around. I guess thats a good sign. The fiancee has been wonderful in my care and entertaining me.

Dr. Thomas does good work, a few of my football players have gone through him. Just take the PT seriously and don't do anything stupid to aggravate it during the healing process. You will be good as new.

Wow how ironic I am sitting in the pt waiting room getting ready to have my shoulder worked on to determine if surgery is an option, but mine is not a rotator cuff but a torn labrum.

I just talked to my orthopedic doctor and he said he is in the process of writing and article about the harm the new bows do to your shoulder. He said this is a real legit thing and he will have it published, I look forward to reading it .

I'm 49 and I am reading it even though I can still wipe with either hand.....

Sadly most of my life has been wasted, but the rest I spent hunting, fishing, and trapping...

I've had left done 2x and right done 1x. Left is showing signs of needing help, but I'll fight it off as long as I can. I have a Total Gym that has been a great aid in keeping things taught, and believe it or not, i feel it does help when its getting weak. therapy is real important, but so is follow through with continued strength/conditioning exercise.

BTW, torn labrum in both, and 3/8" taken off clavicle on right side.

......and I still love shooting my Hoyt Vector32. 3 so far this season with it.
