need help

I shot a buck at 7:30 this morning. The shot was a little back after I shot him and he walked about 40 yards and just stood there for 10 minutes. As It was walking I seen parts of his intestines hanging out. How long should I wait to go and search? He was wobbly as walking away.

Probably won’t make it long but not a great shot so I would wait it out.
If it were me I would wait till about 1 to 1.5 hrs before dark to allow enough time for it to expire and also give you enough time to trail before it gets dark.

Good advice right there.

It's going to lay down, don't push it. I agree..wait around till 3pm .. start tracking slowly...few steps and keep looking ahead just in case he is laying and not expired yet. Take your time, blood may be tough to find after 75 yds.
So hopefully he laid down and is staying there. I think if ya wait your chances are great. Good Luck!

I would wait until an hour before dark. If his intestines are hanging out he won't want to move. He will die, just give it time to happen. Then go in slow and quiet and ready to shoot if need be. Use binoculars to pick apart the thick stuff. Good luck.
