A lot of Hogues are in use...My only experience with them came from a Ruger Alaskan in .375 Ruger that Hogue sent me a replacement stock for when some experienced broken stocks with the original run of stocks on the factory rifles.....I still have the original Hogue on the rifle which has given me no problems....

The Hogue on my Ruger is not of the same composition as many others....

For what it's worth I have a cheap "tupperware" Remington stock on my Rem. 700 300 Savage. It's proven it's worth in all kinds of weather and with it on, the 300 is just as accurate as it is with it's original stock. Tough, impervious to weather, and cheap. A low end stock that works.
