Question TC Impact

I have a TC Renegade with a cracked stock and emailed Thompson and they tole me they are out of stocks and the only recourse they have is to replace my flintlock lock with an Impact inline. I don't need another inline and would rather get a new stock but don't know where to start. What would you do? Have killed many deer with this gun and want to fix it not replace but if that I'd the only option I will send it back. Thanks for suggestions.

Re: Question TC Impact

Cracked through. How would you repair that? Maybe I should say broken but it still is intact and fits gun but don't think it should be hunt worthy.

Re: Question TC Impact

Watch the local auctions. You can buy a Renegade caplock for around $200. I've actually got them for as low as $80 but that was before they quit making them. eBay the lock, barrel and all of the parts for around $150 or more and you will have a stock for around $50.

I have also repaired stock with brass threaded pins. You epoxy and then run the pins through and file off the pins. Doesn't look the greatest but functional. Pins are available from Brownells. I would just replace it for all it would cost. You could probably just buy one on eBay for $100. I would not trade a broken Renegade for an Impact. Lock is worth about $125-150 by itself. Barrel is worth a fair amount if it isn't rusty.

Re: Question TC Impact

Here is one for $250 and you could use the caplock and barrel during the early season if you don't want to resell it. Don't know where Kersey is.
