CVA Hawken & a new patch lube!

I thought my last 5 shot group was ok at 50 yards the last time I shot this gun with moose milk patch lube

. I did nothing but change the patch lube and took 3 shots, and yelled like a wild man!

70 grains goex 2f
.020" patch lubed with Mr Flintlocks patch lube and squeezed out excess lube.
.490" round ball
50 yards

This was with moose milk a couple weeks back,

I just got 3 bottles from George (mr. Flintlock) in the mail yesterday! Glad it's the old formula!

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......

you'll love it! Im using a .020" in an old tight cva barrel and that sucker loads as smooth as a .015 and my patches are no longer blown to heck and back.

Nice tight groups!
Did you run a wet and dry between shots?

Re: CVA Hawken & a new patch lube!

nope! No swabbing was needed. I'll put together some shooting videos over time with the lube.

At our Summer Rhondy, Jefferson Co. longrifles, George gave out some free samples to the members. guess I`d better dig mine out and give it a go....
