Lube that prevents rust

I have found this to be one of the BEST!
Accralube is an extremely pure, high-grade oil that pours freely at -50F and is nongumming at high temperatures. It resists displacement from high pressure on contact surfaces such as sear and mainspring engagements and tumbler contact areas. In other words, this is a great oil that will keep your lock working freely and smoothly in all weather. Accragard is absolutely the best bore protector we have ever tried. With Accragard in your barrel you can forget about any rust. www.flintlocks.com

Re: Lube that prevents rust

I have used Olive oil for years.Playing with Ballistol right now and hear Barricade is good also.
Just don't like to use any petrolium base in any of my muzzys.
Here is some testing.

Re: Lube that prevents rust

Thanks for sharing those test results, 410-er. I still have an original bottle of Lehigh Valley Lube, but have allowed it to rest peacefully in my tool box, and have instead resorted to Ballistol for cleaning, lubing patches, and enjoying its unique aroma.

Re: Lube that prevents rust

Bunky, I have some of George's lube already, if you make it to Bedford county for late season I would be glad to give you a bit to try.

Re: Lube that prevents rust

Bunky; I was just shooting today with the Lehigh Lube and I found it to be outstanding. I only have a half bottle left and I have had it for years but never used but half of it. I hope the new stuff coming out is the old original formula because that's what I want to use now. The fouling was very light and the ball slides down so nice with that lube.

Another thing I wanted to mention is I was shooting a .54 Deerstalker today and I sure do like a .54 as much as you do. I wish I had done it years ago.
