Value of Muzzleloader/gear

Figured I'd ask on here as I don't even remember what I paid for it several years ago but I'm looking to sell my ML and accessories. Its a Lyman Deerstalker .50 cal Along with it I have a little more than a half can of Goex powder plus half or more of a container of pan powder. Approx 50 plus round balls/patches. And also the powder measure, speed loaders, the piece used for starting a ball into the gun (I don't know its proper name) All the end pieces for the rod and a tool key chain with some misc things like wire brush, small pick etc. I believe I also have 3 extra flints that came with the gun. I bought it several years ago at Dixons when my buddy got me into ML hunting but I honestly havent picked the gun up since about a year after I bought it and I just don't see me having the time to use it and I could use the money to put toward some home repairs. I'm just wondering if $400 is out of line for an asking price for the entire deal... here's a few pics:

Nice lookin stuff there Joe!! I would say start at $300.

Used MLers really lose their value plus the accessories really dont add much cause many wanna get their own powder, bullets etc.

Best of luck!

400.00 might be alittle high for a used muzzleloader, They are around 325.00 new and with the access. you have with it I would probibly start it out at $300.00. I could be totaly wrong too so don't get mad at me, it's just My opp.

Re: Value of Muzzleloader/gear

Was a TC Hawken someone was trying to sell for $250 I think. Don't recall anyone even replying to it.

Timing is everything. People aren't looking for flinters right like they would be a month before the season.

Link to TC Hawken classified.

#300 is probably a good starting point. I'd try like heck to sell everything together and make it a package deal Joe. Man, I get a little weepy-eyed thinking about someone leaving our fraternity.

Re: Value of Muzzleloader/gear

I think 300 is probably the lowest I would take in all honesty. I know I paid more than that for the gun alone which I know doesn't hold value but I'm not going to sell it just to sell it, its taking up no space here I just thought it would be nice to see it used more than I do, maybe I'll just hold on to it for future use someday, I dunno...

Well if you bought that gun at dixons im sure you paid more for it than you should have. I was just there and they wanted 530.00 for the lyman great plains when almost everyone else sells them for 439.00. Nice store but way overpriced on a gun.

You know, you make a great point. If Dixons is so popular, why are their prices more than most others?
