Re: Middle Creek hunt...

It's a fun hunt regardless of the outcome. The one year I got pulled I watched a big old gobbler feeding for about 20 minutes and the other hunt I heard trumpeter swans. Not to mention the ton of waterfowl I saw. It's like goose hunting there. You're only allowed one canada goose per person but it's still a cool experience!

If you continue to do what you're doing, you'll only get what you have gotten.

Seriously though I hope I can make it.
At this point it sure appears that any precipitation we'd get would be in the form of rain. Unless Mother Nature changes her tune in a hurry. The one hunt I did use my ladder stand and one of those tree umbrellas. This year it's the Summit climber or the pop-up blind. Depending on the weather. It's a small Doghouse pop-up blind but we've actually hunted 3 guys from it in spring gobbler.

Here's a funny story...After the one hunt there I was walking out and a PGC truck came by and asked if I wanted a ride back to my truck? I said sure. The guy looked at me and said "Aren't you Pigger from Hunting PA?"

Don't think Big Brother ain't watching!!!

Re: Middle Creek hunt...

I was drawn a few times before too. I remember going down early in the morning to put your name in a hat, that was long before they started the mail in process. Last time I was drawn was in 2008. I took a real nice 10 pt. that year in rifle season and wasn't interested in taking another deer. I went down anyway, never loaded my flinter and just took it for a walk. I really enjoyed that and saw a lot of deer. Definetly worth the trip.
