Creedmore Match rifle intermarco Value & opinions

I had a fella bring in the gun and wanted to sell it. I did not have a clue what it was worth. I got all the parts, access, manual, certificate said made in 1986. .451, weight 8.8pds 32" barrel 1in 24 Rh twist, rigby profile. precision tag aperature with verier scale, fully adj, front sight. All was in a nice factory box. He said he bought it from a guy for 600 and the seller paid 800. what do ya think? Price
Thing is immaculate, a little bluing off front sight. there are no ranges within 100 miles for a 1000 yd shot. Got pics Thank you very much Http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/b...20Muzzlelader/

Check the price of Rigby repros at Dixie Gun works and on the on-line auctions. I think ya did fair for used. Italian proofs? Pedersoli maybe?

There was once a 1,000 yd range at Ft Meade that was open to the public. One of my neighbors in Arlington VA shot there. But that was back in the 1980's. There is a long distance muzzle loading web site.

Re: Creedmore Match rifle intermarco Value & opinions

All guns made in Italy, by law have a date code on them which is set forth in letters. For 1986, it would be two letters. As I recall there will be proof marks as well. There are tables on the net for deciphering which country and their proof marks. According to the Table I have, an Italian Gun made in 1986 would have the date code of "AP"

Almost all Pedersoli made guns have a maker cartouche somewhere. Often an oval around a D over a P
Most guns made in Italy actually say that on the barrel somwhere.
It looks like a Rigby repro. Dixie GunWorks currently sells a Rigby repro.
