Gander: ever shoot a 45 long range?

Last weekend, I heard two guy debating the better long range in-line. One guy who I know shoots a good bit of BPCR, swears that a 45 with a long bullet is much more capable of long range accuracy than a fifty. He says a fifty , with more area exposed to the front is more subject to air drag than a 45. When I saw his bullets, he was using the Ideal 457-125, which is the same 500 grain bullet that I use for 500 meter sillywets with my trapdoor. Kind of weird. But he claims accuracy is as good as a BPCR. What the guy said seems to make sense.

Re: Gander: ever shoot a 45 long range?

yeah the .45 has better BC so that would allow it to shoot flatter, plus the smaller bore will build up more pressure than the 50cal.

I have shot or owned a .45 since..... 2007? I go with the 50cal due to our law that a .50cal is minimum for elk.
