Inline barrel length ?

Now I know federal law shotguns barrel must have a minimum length of 18 inches. Rifles must have minimum length barrel of 16 inches .. I love my pump carbines love carbines period. Was watching a hunting show showing a guy tracking deer with his inline muzzy which he had the barrel shortened , was just wondering since this falls under a grey area what’s the minimum length you can have the barrel ???????

Thank you

Thompson Center Encore Katahdin 20" 209x50

Carbine in-line without the question of legality.

Lot of questions between NFA and BATFE. Guarantee ya pay lots in lawyer fees before you are found to be legal!
