One of my favs

Just showing off one of my favorite kit builds I did recently. A Traditions Mountain Rifle .50cal. LOTS of time went into this one, including the faux maple stripes I brushed on using an alcohol stain. 2000 grit sand job, whiskered the stock 4 times as well. Hand rubbed brichwood casey genuine oil finish.

Shiny finish is just a thin coat of fresh linseed oil to help show the faux maple stripes I added.

I'm not a flintlocker, but have always thought they were a beautiful weapon. That one's especially nice. Good job!

It looks really good! I love the curly maple effect. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have assumed that's what it was made of.
