CVA Wolf questions...

What are you using in your CVA Wolf 209 Magnum Break Action .50 Caliber Muzzleloader???
I won one over winter and am not sure what i want to put down the barrel. White hots.... blackhorn 209 and then what 50 cal bullet to use??? Also Should I put a scope on it. I like the slight chalange of open sites but if I use the thing during regular season I would want a scope to count points.

Thanks and I did a search but the only thing that came up was questions on what inline to buy,

Re: CVA Wolf questions...

Ours loves the 250gr Aerolite Powerbelts with 90-100gr blackhorn209 and cci 209 magnum primers.

Is this the new model with the finger removable breech plug?

Heres some links to help you out.

If you can use a scope where you hunt, scope it!

For mounts/rings, go with the Durasight Dead On mount system. Super solid set up and thats all i use on our new CVA's any more.

Re: CVA Wolf questions...

I have one with the old style breach plug and I love it. It has a 3-9X40 ML scope. I use to also have a Wolf with the QRBP. They both got accetable accuracy with 777 or White Hots and 245 gr. PowerBelt ATs. I sold the newer one to get an Optima. The Wolf I have shoots 1/2" groups @ 50 yards. I use 300 gr. Hornady SST-ML High Speed/Low Drag sabots with 2 White Hots and Remington KleanBore primers. Hope this helps.
