Bear Hunting

Have a percussion cap .50cal muzzleloader. What type of set up ( powder, balls/bullets) would I need to hunt bear.

Currently using 100gr 777 pellets with a .245gr sabot.

If you can kill a deer,hit a bear right,he will pile up.I have a 58cal that I keep saying every year I'm going to go with.Like other things,it just doesn't happen.I only wish we had an early bear muzzy season!

Hunted bear in Maine this year with my 50. I used 245 aerotip power belts with 5gr fff BP in front of 90gr. loose 2f 777. This is the load I use for deer and will use here in bear season.

BTW: Let a big bear walk by in Maine. Did not give me the shot I wanted.
