Black Powder Bear - Early Season

I was really hoping to see someone from one of the units that bear season is open in currently post one up that they shot with their muzzleloader.

Anyone out there chasing them with theirs?

Re: Black Powder Bear - Early Season

Haven't heard of any sightings this year in my neck of the woods...

Last year someone killed one with a bow in Beaver County..

I saw that bear in spring turkey season.. everyone thought I was full of it..then it was being seen here n there all summer...I thought I might get a crack in early archery but he was killed outside of my stomping grounds..

There was one in my neighbors backyard earlier this week. REALLY uncommon up here by the lake.

Re: Black Powder Bear - Early Season

I personally wouldn't be opposed to a state wide muzzleloader bear hunt to run concurrently with the doe season.

As for hunting this year, the open areas are outside my usual stomping grounds.
