US / Canada border crossing with BP or Pyrodex

Going to be driving to Canada in a few weeks for a hunt and intend to take my Renegade. I've found all the info I need concerning getting the rifle out and back in but can't find anything on powder. I called Canada CBSA and it won't be an issue on their side but what about clearing US customs, both out and back in?

To be clear, I'm driving, not flying.

Call border patrol and identify yourself using a middle eastern name before you ask the question.

That's a good question loridr. We crossed several times with our in-lines,but always took pellets, either Triple7 or White Hots.We were never even questioned about the type of propellant we had.

Seriously, have you call customs?

I called Canadian Customs and they said small quantities are permissible, but I've had no luck calling US Customs and can't find anything online.

Good to know. I intend to take Pyrodex, not BP. When was the last time you went?

I crossed a few years ago heading to Anticosti Is. with my Cabin Creek flintlock rifle, and 20 pre-loaded tubes of FFFg Goex. No problems either way, north or south. Good luck to you.
