Target Size??

What size bull's-eye target due you folks use when using iron sights??? I think mine are too small as the rear/front sight blocks too much of my view. Is there a standard size for iron sights? Thxs FT

Re: Target Size??

I like a full size paper plate for flintlock shooting rather than a grid center fire target. It's just right for open sights for me.

Re: Target Size??

About the size of the bottom of a soup can.Front sight level across top of rear sight and at the bottom edge of target.

The answers to all of life's questions are found in the Bible!

Yep, 6 O'clock hold will help, In other words the front sight at the bottom of the bull instead of covering it.

Re: Target Size??

For flinterswith I like paper plates, and those shoot and see targets about the size of paper plates. This year I practiced more off hand than off the bench. Picked up one of those cardboard deer targets that you put informs of hay bales for archery. Stapled it to a sheet of osb and in front of my backstop. It really improved my confidence being able to put a hole in that card board deer pretty much where I wanted it. Try it out, you may be surprised.
