I hit the target!

Was out shooting my inline today, and on the second shot the rifle really kicked hard. I was wondering what caused that and I walked to the target and saw a hole touching the first hole and another about 3 inches above the other two.
Now I knew I did not double load so I was kinda scratching my head on this one.

I walked back to the bench and looked things over and discovered the spinjag on the short starter was missing.
At least I hit the target.
Anyone else ever had that happen?

Re: I hit the target!

I witnessed a wood ramrod break off in the gun when attempting to pull the ball from a double loaded rifle. After much debate...a vise was fitted to the shooting bench....a 30 foot string rigged...and the whole mess was shot out...two roundballs..the pulling auger...and half a ramrod.... All came out well !!

Re: I hit the target!

A guy at work insists that he and his brothers used to intentionally load two round balls all the time. One would hit just high, the other one a couple inches low. Said they carried it into the woods like that all the time. I know round balls are a bit different from projectiles, but... yeah it happens!
