galre on sights.

I have a traditions deer hunter with simple fixed dove tail sights. The front is a brass blade. I get terrible glare and haze from the sights. How can I correct this?

Re: galre on sights.

I have one of Deerhunters as well. I also have this problem. I plan on painting the blade black and a light color at the back to aid in sighting.

Re: galre on sights.

The sights really tick me off. Especially when it starts getting dark. I think I will just paint mine. I like the brass blade. That doesnt give me problems. Its the back sight. I think I wiill try some paint as well.

Re: galre on sights.

my rear sight is already black so I figured I would make the front one match.

Re: galre on sights.

Flat black paint will take care of it.

Re: galre on sights.

All the suggestions are very good, but in a pinch you can smoke them with a match or cigarette lighter. That's not a good thing to do in the woods, but at the range it's a great fix.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

Re: galre on sights.

I had a similar problem with my 8mm . All I did is use a little of the wifes nail polish and it was fixed .
