Dixon's Muzzleloading is the best!!!

Had a fantastic time at Dixion's Muzzleloading Shop today. They helped me find all the gear I would need so I could use higher quality parts then the Traditions Redi Pack would have. Picked up 2f and 4f powder and walked around the entire store to help me fined stuff and gave me a free pamphlet (written by the owner) on muzzleloading basics even though they could have showed me a book and I would have bought it. They answered my questions on storage too.

But I just want to say the staff was the friendliest bunch of people around. My 3 year old daughter Amelia was with me along with my wife and Emma the two and a half year old daughter of one of the shop workers invited Amelia to play with her and her toys behind the counter. It was so sweet and adorable. Amelia had a great time too.

Basically if I'm getting anything Muzzleloading I'm exclusively using Dixion's.

They are good folks there, and probably really happy right now, since most of the hunters are done for the year. Go in there just prior to the season and they will be extremely nice, but extremely busy and stressed, too!

My kids love to go and look at the clothing while I drool over guns.

Yeah it was empty when we got there so it was nice and relaxed.

My wife thought a lot of the clothing was really intricate and well done. Truthfully I could have spent a ton more time in there but I had to get back home.

What recommendation does the #1 Muzzleloader Store in America (Dixon's) give for ML storage-purposes?

That it's okay to store black powder in an unattached and Unheated garage as long as it's dry.

I was hoping to hear their recommendations on six month ML rifle storage. What products and methods they use.

Thanks anyways.

I'm guessing it's close to what he has here.

Re: Dixon's Muzzleloading is the best!!!

Was just there last weekend. I'm about to dive into building a rifle so I ran out there to pick up some books to study. 1st time I was ever there. Is like the ML Mecca. Had the books I was looking for as well as a few other things needed for my present flintlock. Service was excellent. All I had to do was ask "do you have..." and he would walk me through the store, get it and hand it to me and ask what was the next thing I was looking for.

I did not have much time to spend there and take a good look at everything, but did take a look around. and was impressed. I may be back soon if not this weekend and take a lot more time to look around. Need to build up my collection of tools I'll need for the build.
