Re: HH&A winter league

You will need your shooting bag, powder horn and rifle with enough powder and ball to shoot the 10 shot woods walk course. Some guys use a range rod to load and swab between shots. There is a covered range to shoot practice shots while waiting to shoot the course. So bring extra and bring a friend or two.

Re: HH&A winter league

Sounds fun! I can't come this weekend (wife is out of town, so I've got the kids on my own all weekend), but maybe next week.

Any issue with a 62-cal rifle? I'd guess most shoot something a bit smaller, but that's what I've got. Also, are there people there for newbies to check in with? I am not new to flintlocks, but I am brand-spankin' new to this kind of activity.

Anyone from the Berks/Schuylkill area want to take a ride out and shoot?

Re: HH&A winter league

No problem with the 62. That is what i shoot most often. When you sign up to shoot you will be put with a group of 4 or 5 other shooters and a score keeper/range officer. Shots range from10 to 100 yards and chipmonk size to bison.

Re: HH&A winter league

If i can make it this year i'm bringing the .66 smoothie, ten shot ranges are easy on the pocket, even if its a knuckleball gun....

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......
