OK, who's gonna man up ?

I'm off tomorrow and Saturday. I cannot find a Deer in muzzy to save my life. I don't mean something within range, I just cannot even find a tail. We all know what the forecast is for the next couple days. So, who is going to drag their butt out of bed in the pre-dawn hours and give it one more go ? BE HONEST.

My son says he is going out. How long, who can say.
As for me? There is way. That is too cold to throw away 67 years of life!

Re: OK, who's gonna man up ?

I have not seen a deer the last two Saturdays while flinting but I will be out there Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. First hunt in the snow for me this year so the snow camo is coming out.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Re: OK, who's gonna man up ?

The forecast where I'll be hunting is calling for 2 degrees(feels like -14) at dawn on Saturday.

So MAYBE, but doubtful. I don't mind the cold, but I do mind frostbite.

My choices are to try to head out Saturday, or head out in the 3 to 5 inches of snow(on top of the likely 10 or so inches already on the ground) forecasted Friday, but at the least it will feel like 0 with the windchill!

Couldn't talk myself into going last evening. Not sure about the next few days, it's brutal out there!

I don't hunt turkeys because I want to, I hunt turkeys because I have to.

This afternoon is still up in the air.
Definitely going out Friday and Saturday with my daughters.
One still hasn't seen a deer this year.
I know the city deer have not moved too much the last few days.

Gosh, what if I actually do come across a Deer and have the misfortune of harvesting it ? I actually may try the garbage can gut job I've always wanted to try, in the garage.

Re: OK, who's gonna man up ?

Probably be out in the afternoon Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Doubt I'll make it out in the morning, especially after being out this morning to warm
Up my truck. This stupid wind with the cold is ridiculous. Oh well.
Seems like most deer just aren't moving far. Watched a couple groups of deer along the highway in the thick stuff with just a few standing and the rest bedding.
