Front Sight Question

I am trying to figure out why my front sight on a TC Renegade can be pushed all the way through the from both sides by hand. I thought that the slot in the barrel and the sight base should be tapered am I wrong about this?

Take the time to show some respect for the animals we hunt

Re: Front Sight Question

You are correct... the front sight is usually pressed into place and needs to be tapped from side to side to align it to point of impact. If you got this gun used it is possible that the previous owner used way to much force to adjust it and therefore causes it to be loose.. You could take it out and make a small dimple on it to have some resistance in the dovetail to keep the sight in place, or even add a little lock-tite at the edge when you get it placed correctly. Good luck...
