Switched to BH209 from 777 pellets because i couldnt get consistent accuracy when sighting in. Ended up with the same problem. Shooting 245gr PowerBelts with 209A primers. Wondering if the powerbelts are the problem. Was touching holes at 50 yards, out to 100 i was all over the place within a 1.5ft target. Would group 2-3 shots next would wander 6-8 inches right, next would wander 6-8 inches left. Any thought. Do i need to try sabots?

Re: Traditions Vortek

Try the 250gr Aerolite or the 300gr Aerolite, that 245 is pretty short and stubby. I like the Vortek LDR shot the 250 aerolites awesome with 100gr BH209.

Something that extreme could be a bad scope/mount problem.

Have you cleaned your breech plug properly with the 1/8" drill bit? A clogged up flash channel will give you BAD results.

Checked the flash channel after every other shot, clean as a whissel. And my maintenance includes using the drill bit for proper cleaning. Just looked at the Aerolite's. I thought the Copper series was pricey!

Re: Traditions Vortek

Watched a video on youtube tonite by Hovey Smith shooting the strikerfire NW edition. He was having trouble with accuracy and began blaming the upward support of the lite weighted barrel from the shooting slide he was using. He began shooting off hand, supporting the front of the gun with only his hand and his accuracy increased substantially. Ever hear of this? Should I be supporting the front half of the gun shooting off a slide or sand bags?

Re: Traditions Vortek

sand bags are what i use. I have run into issues before where a lead sled or something solid causes accuracy issues.
