Where and When?

Where and when did you take your Basic training....Who knows, some of us may have been there at the same time....

I took mine at Ft Jackson, South Carolina..D-4-1..Sept 66....8 weeks of agony ,then OJT 94B20,Then another 8 months at Jackson, before getting orders for Viet Nam...Took a train ride from Pittsburgh to Columbia SC. to get there...

Lackland AFB San Antonio, TX. June-Aug 84. Physically, not too demanding. But they played lots of head games with us. Actually, the hardest thing for me to adjust to was the Summer Texas heat! Got off that plane around 23:00 and felt like I had walked into a convection oven!
Guess that was preparing me for many years later in the SWA heat.

R.S.B., I was in Fort Jackson at the exact same time. Then off to Aberdeen also, small arms repair ,45B20. The winter wind there was brutal.
