Thanks grousechaser!

You just made the end of grouse season a lot more bearable.

This was waiting for me when I got home from a long grouseless day of slip-sliding along ridgelines and hemlock creek bottoms.

Willow & I are now kicked backed enjoying a fire with your book to help get us through until next season.

Thanks Rob
Matt

It's a pretty good read. I bought it some months ago after hearing about on this site and wasn't disappointed. I lent it along to a friend who is now reading it.

Eh...wot?

Re: Thanks grousechaser!

Thanks for the shout-out, Matt. I really hope you enjoy the book. Having a beer and a warm fire to go with it is a pretty good start.

And don't forget that belly rub for Willow. Looks like she earned it yesterday.

All my best,
Rob

Re: Thanks grousechaser!

I just got the book. I am about to start the bear season chapter.

Rob, I hope for your sake the season turns around for you.

I am now into my second year owning a camp north of Pigeon. I haven't made it The Hilton yet, but maybe I should make it more of a priority......

Re: Thanks grousechaser!

I won't spoil it for you.

Rob,
It's been a great read so far. You have a real gift for intertwining your hunting experiences with the history and current land & wildlife management philosophies on the ANF.

I've learned quite a bit and had some pretty good chuckles over your duck hunting adventures.

Re: Thanks grousechaser!

Ah, yes, the infamous Chapter 3 duck hunt. Easily the most popular chapter in the book. Not sure if it was the overturned canoe, the description of the Hallton Hilton, or the naked girl that's drawn all the attention...but I'm pretty certain it was the naked girl.

I'm glad you're enjoying the book, Lost. As I'm sure you've seen by now, it was a true labor of love to write it.

Tcaddis,
I missed your post at first, but I'm glad you're enjoying the book too. I'll give you a little teaser - there's a mention of Pigeon and a local landmark in Marienville that you probably know.

Two pieces of advice if you go to the Hilton. First, don't drink and drive. It's a long and winding trip back to your camp from there. Second, stay out of the ladies room. It only leads to trouble.
