Saw a bunch of birds

I was driving home and I saw a group of pheasants. I was able to see 5 hens and 4 roosters but couldn't get them all in the picture.

Later in the day I took the dogs out to run. Blitz had a great point in the switchgrass and when I went to take a picture the camera didn't work. The cold drained the battery. I walked in and a big rooster flushed less than 10 feet from me out of the snow covered grass. Then the 2nd rooster came out. Just the picture I wanted to get and the camera didn't work. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. The battery is now fully charged.

Re: Saw a bunch of birds

I have 8 (6 roosters, 2 hens) that are feeding in my cut soy field and sheltering in my pines as well as the thick hedegrow across the street. I see them every morning including today when I left to drive an hour to hunt birds! Go figure.

Re: Saw a bunch of birds

It is always nice to see them. I could hunt them but I'm enjoying the dog work I get each week.

Six roosters and two hens. I never liked that ratio when I was younger.

Very cool guys! I hadn't hunted pheasants for years until this fall in Montana. I was reminded then of how much I love them!

Big Don,
Got to admit wild Pheasant hunting in Montana is almost like hunting Lancaster County here in Pa in the old days, it reminds me what we as Pa hunters, have been cheated out of, that is for sure.
Great Pheasant picture bwire.
