Snowshoes: how far south?

I know the season has been out for a while, and don't worry I'm not asking for anyone's spot but I was wondering if snowshoes can be found in the southwestern part of the state in higher elevations. I live in Cambria County and recently found some rather big looking rabbit tracks up in the high elevations while hunting deer and was wondering if there was a possibility these were snowshoe tracks or just woods rabbits. They were found in an area with laurel and rhododendron, and a few log piles here and there. Not what I would call typical cottontail habitat, but if no one hunts them there, I suppose it's possible. Thoughts?

A bad day hunting rabbits beats a good day of anything else!

Stocked by local clubs on SGLs in Cambria many moons ago. My dad has pics of one shot on 198 in the 70-80s

The PGC and Sportsmans clubs stocked hares into the Southwest for years.

They might be around in pockets of good habitat

Setting out a game camera might get you pictures?

That's where the pic was taken my dad has, Mike. Out overlooking Duncansville. Used to see tracks. Not so much anymore.
