1960 grouse study

What are your opinions on the merit of a grouse study done that long ago (at least to me sorry). Hasn't forestry, farming, development, hunting pressure, herbacides, transportation, and predators all impacted the wildlife and woods differently than 50 years ago. Like the ringneck for example but pertaining to ruffies. This is one reason I like to look at old pictures. I look at the trees and habitat.

Holy cow, how many different threads do we need to have on this same "study"?

I feel any study that can be used as a benchmark is of exceptional value. Pretty much all of the variables you listed has had an impact on the PA landscape long before 1960. Im thinking late 19th century right.

Re: 1960 grouse study

Just a thought... I often wondered how it was around the Williamsport vicinity a little over 100 years ago. With the lumber industry peaking it had to be good grousin' ... cant't say much about the fishing though? Seem's like you would have needed an ice fishing setup?

If guns cause crime, mine must be broken.
