Re: problem with beagle

How many do you want him to run with? If he's got Tank in his background he is coming from an outstanding line...

At 5 YOA you might have to live with what you've got...Try having him on lead while others are running.

Continued exposure to pack may work but some are so independent from solo work most of their lives they will not hark in and just go about their own business, even quitting a trail when others hark in.

Good luck with him and welcome

Tom gave some good advice there.

I just had to ask, Cyrus Davis? If so, it's been a while since I've seen you around.

Re: problem with beagle

HI John I've been in out if the hospital with my heart. Haven't got out much to run the dogs the last couple years been looking for some one to run them for me but there's no one up around here that hunts rabbits so there just setting in the kennel. I had them out a few times but can't take the walking any more Im going in for 3 day to have my heart burn't so hopefully that will work. But any why back to my dog he just doesn't want to run if I take any other dogs but 1 I have 6 dogs and i'd like to run him with all them but he just loses interested in hunting with that many dogs and he seem to not be able keep sent so he just leaves the track and come back to me he even seem like he doesn't want to come when I have all the dogs with me Its like he can hear he goes the other way.

Re: problem with beagle

My dogs are all AKC tank top and bottom they do good but I raised this male and he just started this with not wanting to run with the other dogs. Thought I'd just let you know that.

Re: problem with beagle

Sounds like he may be out of shape and can't keep up with pack pressure.

Re: problem with beagle

Years ago I had a male.It was his rabbit or he dropped it and found his own.
