catch and release

went looking for ditch chickens again today.
I seem to be finding a lot of misplaced birds this time in 3D

I seen it flush downwind of us in cut corn and seen about where it landed.
I thought it was a woodcock at first so I circled back down and put it up wind.
the pup found it pretty quick and it flushed into a briar hedgerow.
she cornered it under a large fallen pine limb and wasn't coming out.
I had to go in myself after it or else it was gonna get mauled.

Da hawk ate my baby!!

Re: catch and release

What in the world is a ditch chicken?

Only the owners of a GSP would truly understand, "If I fits, I sits".

Re: catch and release

It's far prettier than a standard bobwhite as far as I'm concerned
