Doxy for Lyme FYI

Found out that your vet can write a prescription for doxy to Rite Aid. Good info because most vets cant get it and my older beagle has a Lyme flare up and needed it. Pass along. happy summer all.

Just thought id pass this along

You can buy it yourself NO VET required.

Most of the animal supply internet sites have it.
Its called Bird Biotic (Doxycycline) 100mg capsules

Re: Doxy for Lyme FYI

Good to know for an emergency but when it comes to my dog surviving the lyme relapse, I would rather stick with meds from local Rx. Not to sure about internet doxy? Same thing but how old, is it kept in a cool dry place? Or in a 120 degree storage trailer. All things to consider. I just called my vet, he called it in, $12 for 20tabs aint bad I thought. Just sayin'

I have it on hand all the time. Bird Biotic is the same as what you get locally for dogs or humans!! Even the same lot numbers on the jars and same sequence!

We use the bird botic but I uderstand that they are going to or have already discontinued it. Something about ingredient supply problems.
We used to get from Dr Foster and Smith but no more.

we have quite a bit here for now so we'll see

Can't find any place online that sells doxy without a script... or does so without requesting your vet info to get one.

EDITED

Anyone has a good tip on a true-blue farm vet in central PA, please PM me.
