looking for .17hmr action...

Would anyone care to give me tips/ideas on how and where i can go hunting with my new .17hmr? i'm so excited to take it out, but i don't know where to go for small game because the spots i go to i'm lucky to get anything with my shotgun. i live in Girardville, Schuylkill County. i usually hunt in the 4c WMU. Anything would be great thank you!

any ideas on how to possibly get a rabbit with the .17?? i'm guessing just sitting on an area of thick cover...???

I wouldn't sit for rabbits, they don't move unless you or the dog move them. Beat the brush and be ready to shoot.
Sometimes when you jump a rabbit they don't go far and offer a shot. But that depends on the pressure the rabbit gets.
I always wait for a full circle, cause I use a dog. Alot I don't shoot, but could have right after there jumped.

Use the 17HMR for tree rats, stick with a shotgun for cottontail.
