Boy's First Pheasant Experience

I've had many great hunts with my setter over the past ten years chasing and harvesting grouse and pheasants. But the very best hunt came this past year over Thanksgiving break when my 8 year old son "guided" me on his first pheasant hunt (note: he was not hunting just out for the experience). We were fortunate enough to find 2 public land roosters that the dog worked and pointed in classic fashion. Eli, my son, insisted on carrying the birds all the way back to the truck... it was a great day for him... but it was even greater for me to see him so excited!!!

(note: he used the cushion seat to push thorns out of his way and gun was unloaded at time of photo)

A priceless moment in your life I'm sure. Way to put together some quality time with your son.

Give your setter a good belly rub for me.

Re: Boy's First Pheasant Experience

Awesome! Take your kids hunting and you won't have to hunt for your kids! Great role model!
