Hare Tracks!

Spotted quite a few hare tracks today while driving an area for deer. I haven't seen a hare in this particular location in over four years. Glad to see some still around. I'll have to take a couple hounds there after X-Mas to listen to a chase or two.

Re: Hare Tracks!

My setter has pointed 2 this year...one of my goals is to get one off of her points. Last year during the first day of hare season she went on point and thinking it was a grouse, a hare bolts out and I missed it (ugh)...could have used a few of your beagles at that point.

Re: Hare Tracks!

Good to hear Chet, but we all know there aren't any hare left in NE PA. Why else would they have closed the season?

Re: Hare Tracks!

I just wish we'd get some snow so I could at least look for a hare track.

To feed the fishers they reintroduced. Saw their tracks as well. Wish they would open a trapping season on them in my part of the state. I caught a couple last year while targeting coyote.
I'm really going to miss hunting hare this year. I can honestly say hare are my favorite game animal to hunt. At least I can still run one or two. If I had more computer smarts I'd take a video camera along to video tape/post some chases.
