Just got on from our annual Thanksgiving week hare hunt to northern Maine.
The weather was absolutely perfect with lows in the 20's over night and highs reaching the low 40's.
It was just a super trip with just GREAT game numbers.
The dogs just hammered. I think that we had 1-15 minute period in our 4 days when the dogs were not running.
I was very happy with my three as they all performed at the very top of their abilities.
Cinder did get a bit of a reputation after a few piranah type moments on wounded hare. But I'll let that go for now.
Again this year Bobcat came up with his now getting to be adult sons Doug and Devin.
Thanks guys for all your help keeping the dogs taken care of and showing there are still at least some true young outdoorsmen out there.
Also nice job by your 2 young hounds.
We also had a first timer Big Jim W brought 12 year old Dillen along for his indoctrination into hare camp.
Our buddy Sam also came again and brought his walker mix Dea along. What a good job she did. Jumping tons of game and running right in there with the packs.
We ended with 42 hare and 5 grouse for our 4 days.
Here are a few pics. I'll post more when I get them.
